Who We Are
Peter R. Carroll, MD MPH
Dr. Carroll is a urologic oncologist and Chair of Urology at the University of California San-Francisco Medical Center and the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed general surgery training and urology residency at UCSF. He completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and also received his MPH from UC Berkeley. He now serves as Associate Dean of the UCSF School of Medicine.
Anthony V. D’Amico, MD PhD
Dr. D'Amico is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and is the Chief of Genitourinary Radiation Oncology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He received his PhD in Radiation Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986, and then his MD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990, where he also served as a resident and then chief resident in 1994.
Jason A. Efstathiou, MD DPhil
Dr. Efstathiou is a radiation oncologist specializing in prostate cancer and other genitourinary malignancies as an Instructor at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He earned a BS degree in Biology at Yale University, completed a doctoral thesis in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford, and received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He recently completed his residency training in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program.
Michael W. Kattan, MBA PhD
Dr. Kattan is a Professor of Medicine at the Lerner School of Medicine of Case Western University and Chair of Quantitative Health Sciences at Cleveland Clinic. He received his MBA from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and a PhD in business administration from the University of Houston in Texas. He completed training as a postdoctoral fellow in medical informatics at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
Matthew S. Katz, MD
Dr. Katz is currently a radiation oncologist with Radiation Oncology Associates, PA and serves as the Chief of Radiation Oncology at Saints Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. After completing residency at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, he was on staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital 2003-2004 before going into community practice.
Paul L. Nguyen, MD
Dr. Nguyen is a radiation oncologist and Director of Prostate Brachytherapy at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He recently completed his residency training in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program.
Martin G. Sanda, MD
Dr. Sanda is a urologic oncologist and serves as Director of the Prostate Cancer Care Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is an Associate Professor of Urology at Harvard Medical School and Co-Leader of the Prostate Program at Dana Farber-Harvard Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his urology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Matthew R. Smith, MD PhD
Dr. Smith is a medical oncologist with expertise in genitourinary malignancies and is Director of the Claire & John Bertucci Center for Genitourinary Cancers at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Anthony L. Zietman, MD
Dr. Zietman is a radiation oncologist with expertise in prostate cancer, bladder cancer and other genitourinary malignancies at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a Professor at Harvard Medical School and currently serves as President for ASTRO, the world’s largest organization devoted to radiation oncology.
